Which type of marketing do you subscribe to? The modern or traditional version? Maybe even a combination of them both?

So, when it comes down to it, what are the main difference between modern and traditional marketing? Well, there are many differences to take a look at because they explore different avenues.

In this modern world we live in, the many advancements in technology have resulted in a unique approach to marketing such as social media marketing, email marketing, blogging, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), live videos on Facebook and YouTube, and the list goes on and on...

Then, traditional marketing includes other non-electronic mediums such as an ad in a newspaper, magazine, radio, television (TV), billboards, petrol station pumps, telemarketing and even sales letters.

Now, traditional marketing is actually very one dimensional as the only target was to sell the goods or services for profit. Whereas, modern marketing is actually multidimensional as apart from selling goods or services for profit. Basically, it lays emphasis on customer satisfaction and planning, after sales and many other variables.

So, as an entrepreneur, which approach would you consider using? One or the other, or both? Keep in mind that having an open mind with marketing is showing your creative side. Being able to engage and reach your clientele is of analytical importance as well. Maybe consider using social media to reach a broad range of clients/customers, while at the same time sending out sales letters to personally thank your current clients. This could lead to word-of-mouth referrals. Therefore, expanding your sales!
